“We’ll know our disinformation program is complete
when everything the American public believes is false.”
 William Casey CIA Director 1980

Allot of information about 9/11 has emerged in the past decade. Perhaps more than most people are willing to digest. One thing is certain,  the official story must forever be hammered into the hearts and minds of a complacent populace hungry for outrage and sensational centrism.

Allot has changed indeed.    The face of skepticism is now anonymous.
It teetering at the edge of irrelevance cloaked as if to conceal an undefinable futility.

Who cares what people think.  Who cares what happened 100 years ago.

The face of 9/11 is business as usual on Wall Street.

The face of 9/11 is a somber chorus lamenting in unison under the cacophony of discordant sirens.

The term Ground Zero no longer defines the center of nuclear detonations.
Ground Zero is now a sacred place in downtown New York City.

The face of 9/11 is faceless.  It is the Lie of Our Lives.

Where's Santa

Forget our worries and woe, tis the season to be filled with hot air. Not surprisingly the shopping season has got off to a rather deflated start as economic inflation gives way to consumer recession with GDP stagflation and, for some folk, down right 30's style depression.

Rejoice, praise and pass the potpourri. For many in their darkest hour dreams of a white christmas can be brought back for an encore performance. From little miracles things do turn around making bellies warm and cheeks rosy merry and bright.

Such is Mr. Lucky fiberglass Santa of Surfside that has been remastered and restored with a shiny new coat of red enamel.

The season of rebirth is much more than shiny packages or mangy vignettes and gurgly egg nog. Christams is a time to reflect on the madness of our making; to reconsider, reconcile and embrace contentedness.

Scrooge be gone, Christmas is a time to remember 9/10.

Always Remember to Never Forget

Setting aside all intellectual progress and plunging us back into darkness is a pretty good definition of horror. Ned Sublette

Customers Petrified

It took less than ten years to solidify the myth that is 9/11. It took only seven days.
Not that two airplanes did not strike the World Trade Center towers on that bright sunny late-summer day. The myth that was to be re-enforced in perpetuity at all cost is a falsehood depriving the public of what had to transpire to make horror possible. What follows in this commemorative post is an exert from the personal chronicles by incomparable scholar Ned Sublette. The photos are a mix of my own taken on 10/11/01 and others borrowed from the internet.

Bad Housekeeping

From NedsList:

There was a bizarre disconnect between the horror stories we were hearing on the radio about what had happened less than a mile from where we lived and the fact that we never felt personally threatened. When you think of the science-fiction scenarios of civil disaster in a major metropolitan area, you don’t imagine that within eyesight of ground zero, life can go on with comfort basically uninterrupted. We had lights, water, air conditioning, phone, internet, food. A few blocks down, it was another story.

Most days we didn’t breathe the smoke. It depended on the wind whether we detected what I remember calling a “sour” smell. Christie Whitman, a Republican apparatchik who had formerly been governor of New Jersey and was now the Bush-appointed director of the Environmental Protection Association, took her place in history by lying outright and telling us the air was safe to breathe. It wasn’t, but they were determined to have Wall Street reopen. It was a murderous lie. She didn’t tell us that the asbestos fibers in the smoke were so tiny that the measuring equipment couldn’t detect it. There were microfibers of glass going into our lungs. Gypsum. Corpses. People were working fourteen-hour days down at the cleanup, without masks, breathing deep lungfuls of that poison.

As the autumn wore on, we made that pilgrimage downtown to the twisted metal skeleton as often as we could. The fires burned until December. We were not only breathing in a dense cocktail of chemicals, we were breathing in the dead.

One day, Constance opened the drawer where we keep the pillowcases. That smell wafted up out of it. That smell of incinerated building materials and bodies.

[break]

ODD JOB indeed.

It took Bush four days to get around to coming to New York City. When he did, he was crowned as a hero by the national media, with the far-right media setting the pace. The farther away you were from the scene of the attacks, and the more what you knew of it came from TV, the more pre-digested and pre-spun it was for you, the more belligerent a response you wanted. Dick Cheney was busy at his undisclosed location, trying to figure out how to work September 11 into his previously planned invasion of Iraq. The consolidation of the neocon agenda was under way: imperial war, corporate looting, aggressive restructuring of governmental institutions, domestic repression.

We were terrified the whole time. Not of Islamic terrorism. That had already happened. We were terrified because it had happened and Chimpy W. Fustercluck was in charge, with Mr. Undisclosed Location himself, Dick Cheney, whispering in his ear. We were right to be terrified.

See No Evil, Speak No Evil

The loathsome Paul Wolfowitz, whose existence I had previously been unaware of, spoke of “ending states that support terrorism.” He later explained, oh, what he meant was, “ending state support for terrorism.” Great, we’ve got amateurs threatening the world and they can’t even say it right. But the low point was when George W. Bush, who was talking crazy shit about how he was going to “rid the world of evil-doers,” on Sunday September 16, 2001, referred to his “war on terrorism” as a “crusade.”

Oh my God, I realized: he doesn’t even know what the Crusades were. To him, crusade is a Billy Graham word. Campus Crusade for Christ, that kind of thing. But he actually is unleashing a Crusade. Which is exactly what Osama bin Laden wanted him to do. What does the word crusade translate to in Arabic? Jihad.

Quick, to Freshkills !

Not a shred of evidence from the crime scene of the century has been saved intact. What does exist has been sanitized, homogenized, pasteurized and classified. Not one person responsible to the failure has gone to jail.

From my dispatch of October 2, 2001:

>Down at Ground Zero, the smoke continues to pour upward. I think even uptown a lot of people don't realize the fires are still burning. When the wind is blowing strong out of the north like it has been for the last two days you might think the fire's out because the smoke disperses so rapidly. But even with the three strong rains we've had since the 11th the fires continue. A week or so ago I heard they had abated to the point that it could be discerned that there were three main fires. New little ones flare up occasionally, throwing a fresh plumelet of smoke into the air.

>At night is when it's most spectacular, because the work that goes on 24-7 down at "the crime scene" is floodlit, so the smoke is brightly, theatrically illuminated from underneath. When you look to the south -- still expecting to see the towers -- you see instead a

gleaming cloud of bluish-white billowing smoke roiling up from below, as if belching out of hell.

>The trope most often invoked is the disaster movie. But it reminds me more of H.P. Lovecraft, in whose "The Dunwich Horror" a vortex in New England is a portal to unfathomable evil that threatens the entire planet.

>Lovecraft wrote to his hometown paper, the Providence, R.I., Evening News, on 5 September 1914:

>[begin block quote] It is an unfortunate fact that every man who seeks to disseminate knowledge must contend not only against ignorance itself, but against false instruction as well. No sooner do we deem ourselves free from a particularly gross superstition, than we are confronted by some enemy to learning who would set aside all the intellectual progress of years, and plunge us back into the darkness of mediaeval disbelief. [end block quote]

Setting aside all intellectual progress and plunging us back into darkness is a pretty good definition of horror.

Golden Key

The 411 on 911 is to always remember to never forget. The myth that has become the official story of what happened on that fateful day will be perpetuated for decades to come in coloring books for children, a contagious lust for militarized corporatism and a cowered media. The key that will bust the myth is your thinking self.

I had the serendipitous privilege to hunker down with Ned during Hurricane Irene recently. With his nervous guitar and my tranquilizing rum we were able to ride out yet another disaster where most of the damage from Irene was to our livers. Sadly the psychological damage from 9/11 is far worse, world-wide and long-lasting.

belated 9/11

“The greatest enemy of the truth is not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth – persistent, pervasive, and unrealistic.”
John F. Kennedy

The Architects

Most of what I know about the events of September 11, 2001 was gleaned from Google. There is an ever growing amount of information but not a kernel of closure. Looking back there is one thing I knew the moment we all saw the World Trade Center collapse live on teevee. Those towers were brought down by more than just airplanes. Nearly one month after, on my first visit to ground zero, a stench hung in the air of the entire lower Manhattan. The autumn breeze was a toxic assault on every olfactory downwind. The place reeked of the pulverized remains of the pillars of privilege mashed with the contents of 107 stories reduced to a pile in a hole in the middle of new amsterdam.

All You People

The official story of 9/11 is a glossy photoshop composite cropped just so as to keep whatever is beyond the frame out of sight. People who buy the official story rather than the panorama of a spectral reality do so for their own sanity's sake. The cold forensic facts outside the frame may drive them batshit crazy. This is one case where the truth is more fantastic than most can imagine.

Hey, its Legal

In the days leading to September 11, if you follow the money, there is no pot of gold, there is olny put options and obfuscation. If a plane had crashed into Wall Street, the level of outrage would have been a resounding sigh of relief. Do a google, follow the shekels and there you will find nothing as all the paperwork was shredded into the pulp of fiction.

Lucky Seven

Takes a 50 story pile of good luck to hide the smoking gun in plain sight.
Building # 7 has a history of housing a shadowy host of tenants and oblique bureaucracies and opaque operations. Nondescript and shrouded by the flash of the shimmering twin towers at the World Trade Center, building 7 was made more than expendable, it had to come down, it was the pantry in a house of cards still standing. Today on the internet anyone can read about the irregularities of its implosion. We wooble, you decide.

Nothing to See Here

Was the rush to find closure for the survivors a convenient smoke screen for the quick disposal of forensic evidence from the crime scene of the decade?
The big sift was in high gear, complete in less than 10 months.

Fresh Kills Land Fill Staten Island, NY
    Recovered
  • 4,257 pieces of human remains
  • 54,000 personal effects—95% belonging to survivors, including 610 pieces of jewelry
  • $76,318.47 found loose in the fields
  • 6 kilograms of narcotics
  • 4,000 photos—found and delivered to Kodak Laboratories and NFL Films to be decontaminated and restored
  • 1,358 destroyed vehicles processed: 102 pieces of fire apparatus, 61 police department vehicles, and 1,195 personal automobiles
  • Hundreds of airplane fragments
  • Several pieces of Auguste Rodin sculptures from the offices of the investment firm Cantor Fitzgerald
  • Thousands of rounds of unexploded ammunition

EYE eye eye

Sci Fi writers past would conjure up wild version of a future world where leering cameras hung everywhere in your waking days and crawled up our brain in while asleep. The new world order with its affection for surveillance is a major league global pain in the identity.
Bad enough most earthlings gotta be dirt poor, now they want to watch @#$%^!

Lucky Charms
A mind is a terrible thing to turn into a killing machine.

Friendly Fire For Hire

It defies dignified comprehension to try or make sense of the madness that would intentionally set out to fabricate an enemy where there is non. Is it possible that given unlimited resources and demented persuasions humans are capable of such sinister intent or are those blunderers just that stupid. Is al Qaeda no longer just a database in a classified computer.

In the 1980s, one program undertaken by the United States was to finance Mujahideen propaganda in textbooks for Afghan schools. The US gave the Mujahideen $43 million in “non-lethal” aid for the textbook project alone, which was given by USAID: “The U.S. Agency for International Development, [USAID] coordinated its work with the CIA, which ran the weapons program,” and “The U.S. government told the AID to let the Afghan war chiefs decide the school curriculum and the content of the textbooks.”

Krypto the Celebrity

The textbooks were “filled with violent images and militant Islamic teachings,” and “were filled with talk of jihad and featured drawings of guns, bullets, soldiers and mines.” Even since the covert war of the 1980s, the textbooks “have served since then as the Afghan school system's core curriculum. Even the Taliban used the American-produced books.” The books were developed through a USAID grant to the “University of Nebraska-Omaha and its Center for Afghanistan Studies,” and when the books were smuggled into Afghanistan through regional military leaders, “Children were taught to count with illustrations showing tanks, missiles and land mines.” USAID stopped this funding in 1994.[65]

Mosquito Repellent

"All things are subject to interpretation
whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth."

(Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche)

Thread Bare Patriotism

When it comes to trivializing profoundity and sensationalizing trivia, no one does it better than Faux News and street vendors. When the Tea Partyers converged in DC for a show of force on the anniversary of MLK civil rights march and claimed it was a coincidence in time, i say bull-pucky. When the same misguided souls espouse sedition and embrace secession from the union, I have to wonder what's next? Surely not peaceful resolution. Perhaps the more we are distracted and divided from the heady issues such as the consolidation of propaganda, the disparity of wealth and our secret foreign policy agenda, the more we will be left behind with that feeling of empty concern.

Haters Welcome Mat

When it comes to tolerance and reconciliation, Glenn Beck is a styrofoam brick wall, impassable yet 99% air. Beck is the latest clued-in mouthpiece for the eliminationist crowd that Rush Limpbaum championed bombastic. These push-button sound-biters are not stupid, they just cater to the stupid in some of us. When those "some of us" tally in the millions, we others must be on the look-out for packs of sheeple in wolves garb brandishing bibles, billy-clubs and blind rage.

True Blue Byzantine Target

If the proposed mosque at ground zero is to look anything like this one in Afghanistan, then I'm all for it. What I stand firmly opposed to is another institution that blindly props up the official fable that 19 rag-heads from the saudi desert were able to fool the greatest known defenders of freedom in the blue planet on their own turf with no help from the insiders that benefit obscenely from such theater of disaster.

9/11 Omission Report

Until there is a considerable challenge by BigMedia to the official story of what happened on that fateful day in September 2001, we are all living a big fat lie. The status quo can only collapse under its own weight from within.
What is it going to take to re-investigate the crime of the century... space monkeys with telepathic hypnotical tweeters beaming the truth on cable teevee and on the back of cereal boxes?

last week's news

World news digest from the swamp is moving like molasses, here is last week's reportage for the slow to know.

Earth Daily

Got New? call 1-001-800-911

just flew in, wings tired

Now that the volcanic ash cloud of terror has dissipated enough to allow air travel to resume, Europeans are rediscovering trains after standing by while commercial air travel sat like a duck out of water.

Earth Day... Moon Night

Buzz Aldrin - man on the moon commented upon looking at the earth from that unique perspective:

"One small step for man, one giant vacuum cleaner for mankind.
"

Buzz recently toured prez Obam! through Cape Kennedy and got a big blast of federal funding to energize space exploration. Throwing money into space is nice in a starwars kinda way but there are pressing needs down on the ground.

Carbon Base Peanut Farmer

Long term change is most obvious when we take a rear-view mirror look at works in progress such as US president Jimmy Carter pitching solar panels during the 1970's oil shortage or the Three Gorges Dam in China, biggest hydro-electric install thus far with huge environmental footprint.

Humans Welcome

The earth doesn't mind that we are here, in fact she probably does not give us much thought as she may very well be better off in some respect without us.
Father time does not give a flying walinda about man.

Edward R. Burrow Bldg.

But wherever man goes, trouble and devastation soon follow. Back in happier simpler days when folks got around on horse and buggy, the American ethic was one of true affluence.
But as disparity in the classes grew, poor folk got itchy with discontent.

I Heart Office Bldg.

Who would like to forget that fateful day in Oklahoma City when federal agencies became the target for disgruntled enemies within. The home-grown haters reared their ugly tempers and made some noise. The official story ended with the electric chair for a young soldier from around the corner who took his secrets with.

Spring Cleaning

It's time to dust off those tired notions of what is news. News is bending to revision as the last word can always be updated to include new news. Speculators and conspiracists will keep hope alive that someway a better truth about 9/11 will shine a light in the shadows of the musty history.

Stray Within the Lines

Children draw the darnedest things.

Volcano Watch

The attack on the World Trade Center was akin to volcanic eruptions... we know they will happen, we just can't say when.

Fast Forward 2019

From the look of this merchant, september 11 was a long time ago and safe for trivialization.

News Grows Up in Smoke

Things are not always what they seem, and certainly what we are lead to believe is often not quit accurate nor complete.

Next week we'll report on the crisis with sticky Gook in the Gulf, and finally a local feel-good story to soften the real bad news.
