Donuts for the troops back home
for a delightful zany look at the best of new york street-life with the apostle of fun kenny scharf. He doesn't make the donuts, he just delivers the joy of eating one.

let the eagle soar for no reason
This wall sculpture of the eagle from the u.s. coin is one of three made for polish artist Piotr Uklanski. It's a joy to carve american marble, aka styrofoam, using really sharp knives. Most countries have a national bird. Here it is the bald eagle but a better choice could be the great north american wild turkey. Anyways the Rubell Family Collection has one and the other two flew the coop across the big pond.

Rebecca Wakefield’s brief history of The Related Group is a sharp reminder of the cautious words of Marjory Stoneman Douglas "I'd like to hear less talk about men and women and more talk about citizens.". Today we have more flabbergast cityscapes resulting from the audacity of the builders and their tools at towm hall. If it is not good or bad, it must be schmimo at Sunny Isles.

For all things africana and more, my white brother in Harlem is Kurt Thometz the Jazzy Gent of Jumel Terrace Books and oasis for the unrestrained pursuit of knowledge.

StreetArt
Keith Haring was my friend. Today he is a legend and a source of inspiration for many artist who never met him, were probably in diapers when keith was writing wildstyle in NY. He had a tremendous regard for the graffiti cultural dynamic. Imagine my delight to see this mural in Miami. Wonder who painted this and what's with the Hieronymus Bosch background.
